I read about these on a science blog, in which it was claimed that someone demonstrated how to move extremely heavy stone with them.

Stonehenge comes to mind, but how were the stones placed on top of each other?

It's not a mystery. My reputation was so awesome it echoed back in time.

By lifting them?
I just saw a show on them the other night.
They believe they used them like ball bearings. On this show they built tracks out of wood and then put the stone balls in grooves on the tracks, then just rolled the heavy stuff right over the top.
They tested and showed that this mehtod was effective enough to move the big stones at stonehinge.

Tee hee hee.
By what mechanism were they lifted, Mr. Smarty.
Keep on mouthing off like that, and it's not very likely that I'll refrain from giving you a smackdown!

In fact, it's entirely possible. (couldn't resist...)
Unshackled.
