  Their are many factors into why people become religous.

  There may be locational, age, culture and gender inflluences. In Philip Zimbardo's book "The Time Paradox", these would be people with present-fatalistic and transcendental future perspectives (p. 177).

  - More likely to live in an equatorial country.

  - More likely to be a woman.

  - The young and the old are more likely than young adults and middle-aged.

  - More likely African-American and Hispanic.
