What was so bad about what they were doing? It seems like a massive over reaction to me no wonder the people were bemused. The number of police was excessive to protect a monument.

Hey Cantleave, don't be too happy about our circumstances, this is a Police State in all but name here, they need to be controlled even in the good old U.K
I am glad that the Police officer responsible for Ian Tomlinson's death is to be charged, and I am glad that "Kettling" is to be restricted, but our police are no angels.
Why don't you guys in America organize a mass dance-in at the memorial ???

This is totally about controlling people to make things easier for the government. The terrorists are winning. People are supposed to obey so that they won't get arrested and ruin their weekend and have trouble getting to work on time after the weekend because they are still in jail. Ultimately, to make their point that they are right to exercise "freedoms" these people will pay a hefty price. Anti-terrorism laws in place will allow the government to not be sued over this.
George Karlin said it right. If your rights can be taken away, you have no rights.

I posted that video on my FB to let others know what is going on. Why the police thought the dance routine was supposed to be a protest is beyond me.

Adam is organizing an even bigger "dance" at the Jefferson Memorial for this Saturday. I think his hope is to have SO MANY people dancing there that they just won't have enough cops to deal with it or that the cops will again overreact and this story of a police state will finally make it on to the mainstream media.
