My JW mom had a bad car accident, she has neck problems and she might need a transfusion, so this is what Ray means when illusion meets with reality, anyway I need to voice my opinion on the matter without pushing her away.

Oh Dear me JJJ . . . I'm so sorry this has been visited upon you. "Mum . . . it's your life, your decision . . . don't let others make it for you" is about as close as you could get with advice I fear. I hope it doesn't come to that decision . . . I really do.

Tell your mom, that today, what is called "blood transfusions" are in reality, only "fractions" of blood, not all blood.
So, if we can accept some fractions, there are not bases for not accept all the fractions. For example, we can accept hemoglobin, so why not accept all the red blood cells from wich derivates the hemoglobin?

Has she recovered from the accident and now needs corrective surgery? If so, it would appear that the WT has left open a "crack in the door" with regards to the use of autologous blood (one's own blood drawn and stored prior to surgery) .. The October 2001 WT mentions recourse to one's own blood if it's used as part of "current therapy." This for them is a significant liberalization; I read it on a thread somewher, maybe Marvin Shilmer can help here.

Sorry to hear about your mom. How strong a Dub is she? Is it possible to keep the elders and HLC goons away? Do you have any other normal family or are they all JWs? You may be fighting a losing battle, I'm afraid. Good luck though.

Sorry, I was not too sure what to make of this recent car accident, over the phone it sounded a lot worse...well the car is unrepearable but she walked away without a scratch, she is fine at the moment just had to do some x rays around her neck because of the impact and her chronic illness tendonitis, so i guess i made a big thing out of nothing but who knows what the future may hold.
She told me that consciently she much rather that I take blood and repent than die, she understands that blood is an alternative transport for oxygen but she does not have a problem in refusing blood for herself.
But talking about stuff agains the jw doctrine, its got to a point that if i mentioned something against their believe while talking they just wont talk about it. The same with family members since I oops emailed the elders manuel to other people.

You could say you would equally want HER to remain in YOUR life. Also worth looking into what Room 215 suggested.
