"Jack Kevorkian, the controversial American doctor who claimed to have assisted more than 100 suicides, has died aged 83."

To my mind, the guy is a hero for having the courage to open up debate and put himself on the line to end the suffering of others

The irony right. Dr.Death........died....... I respected him, and agreed with him. If something really messed up happens to me, pull the plug, and to b honest with you, I wouldn't mind if someone put a pillow over my head and then shot me. Better than suffering with Lung Cancer and METS. I'll pass on that.

By the way Al Pacino nailed Kevorkian's character.

Ironic, though, that he did not do a doctor-assisted suicide himself?

Why? It is a way out for people in intolerable pain and hopeless situations, not advocated for everyone.

If he had been in a situation where he needed doctor-assisted suicide, I'm sure he would have sought it.

That is the whole point of euthanasia - that a person has the choice over how and when they die.
