So, i think i am about ready to write my DA letter... I am freaking DONE w this cult....

Yesterday I went over to pick up some $$ from my old JW roommate (cellphone contract!) and we started talking, since i am not DF (yet) we still talk about regular stuff w/o a problem... she is almost 30, not exactly a model and not even remotely interested in going to school or getting a full time job (she wants to spend all of her time in the field circus because the end is near ::roll eyes::)... back to the story, while talking to her she started talking about this brother she rejected like 2 years ago, but now she wants him back because she realized she is not going to find another man with such a small pool of options... the dude is almost border line apostate now (tehehehe) and rejected her... guess what was he reaction? she said "well, he is not good enough for me, he was born in the truth and he is not even a MS" and then she went on a rant about how a brother is not good enough because they dont have a title/reponsibility in the congo....

I thought the JW said they dont care about tittles or cleric, but rejecting or taking shoot about someone because they are not elders or MS, that's just plain ignorant and stupid.... ahh and then another "friend" went off on me cuz they found out i am practicing yoga and thats from the devil... i told them they can shove their opinions and i dont give a rat's ass what people think specially the JW...

I cannot stand the ignorance and arrogance these people have, i mean they always talk about how they are God's chosen people and the love they have among the congo reflects that... but they are always ripping each other to pieces behind their backs and critizicing those who dont feel like wasting their time being a freaking MS, elder or pioneer... Anyone cares to share some more experiences???

Thanks for reading!! i had to vent!

I feel your pain! You know, if your friend did go back to school and work on finding fullfilling employment she might actually become INTERESTING and her small pool would grow naturally. I knew many sisters that felt a title was a prerequisite. In the end they expect very little of themselves and very little from a possible spouse. In the real world, gathering some experience, reading books, having opinions opens the social field. I'd much rather discuss a book or politics then spin around the SAME OLD spiritual material!

I guess ignorance isn't bliss for your friend. haha.

They are politician status when it comes to titles! They (poorly) pretend they don't love the power a title can bring.

I think it was just a immature knee-jerk reaction to getting rejected by him. She probably couldn't take it about just wanted to make herself feel and look better. Doesn't seem to be working out though.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I left. Everyone was pressuring me all my life to become a MS with the eventual goal of turning me into an elder. I never in my life felt the need to have those titles. I could see the stress in the MS and elder's eyes. My dad is an elder and I lived with him for a very long time. I can tell you he was and still is VERY stressed and worn out! He is retired, so now he can be a full time J-dub, but even now he still can't find enough hours in the day to pioneer, prepare talks and everything else that goes into his title. They wanted me to turn into that? No thanks!

Here's a related topic I wrote: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/212045/1/My-father-seems-unhappy (It's kinda funny cause I screwed up the 1st time I posted it)

Anyway, my brother once told me that I looked like I'm ready for the MS title since I was doing so well in the Kingdom Hall. That scared me, and I thought maybe I shouldn't try as hard as I was trying. I should stop before they put titles and burdens they call "privileges" on me. Also, a brother once got a little upset when he suggested I become a missionary and I told him loud and clear NO WAY! I told him that's not for me, neither is living at Bethel. He got a little angry and couldn't believe I didn't want that for my future! I couldn't believe he was trying to choose my future!

So yeah, titles DO matter to JWs despite their denials of that claim. Btw cuz, on a different note, (to keep this as unanimous as possible) I was thinking when we go on the trip this year, we're gonna have the JW world after us once they see pictures of us three together. You're considered DF'd by some Witnesses even though all you did was faded. Some say you "renounced your religion" cause you left, so pictures of us can possibly get us DF'd too especially if you DA yourself in a letter. The $#!t is about to hit the fan.

Dont worry about it cuz... i have NO contact w the JWs, including the ones related to me... they are blocked from my FB page and cannot even find me if the search for my name... so even if i post pictures they wont see them.. and i wont tag u or the wifey... so, is all good..

in the other hand... yes i think shit is about to hit the fan for u guys.... completely unrelated to me... just keep doing what you have been doing, deny deny deny!!! :p

    Best of luck!!
