The Rutherford Experiment

Here is something I have done a few times to see what
    people's responses will be.

I have asked people that I know (for instance, some are
people that I work with) the following question:

Suppose that some attorney is selected to fill in for a
judge for a few days when he is out of town. Should that
attorney use the title "Judge" for the rest of his life?

What would you think of such an attorney if he did use
    assume the title "Judge"

    Some responses:

    "He sounds very pompous"

    "He wanted control over people"

"He should not use the title 'Judge'"

OK, now what is the point of this? It is this:

Before asking this question, I do not mention
anything at all about Rutherford, Jehovah's Witnesses,
or the Watchtower. The question stands on it's own.

What it does show is that one attribute of Rutherford
is apparent to everyone from his allowing the title of
"Judge" to be used in front of his name.

    It is POMPOSITY!

From the dictionary, the word 'pompous' is defined as:

"excessively elevated or ornate, having or exhibiting
    self-importance, ARROGANT."

yep, perfect words to describe "The Judge"

    Good points, vm.

Jesus is probably having a hard time whim. Jesus succeeded in tossing the devil, rutherford is likely to toss jesus, if he turns his back.

    VM,
Good points indeed. So did 'Judge' Rutherford really only practice as a judge for a short while? I must confess, I don't know a whole lot about him.

But it's interesting to investigate the implication! Hmmm... I wonder if he did keep the title for prestige?

There is a thread on the board right now discussing it. I'm too lazy to look it up and post it thought. Sorry.

Something about him sitting in for a judge once and once being the lead chair infront of the Supreme court for a case. But he never presented because the Society ended up using an outside attorney.

    G'day terafera,

I suggest you take the time to find out a bit more about Joe Ratherflawed and his teachings. He is the one who was the founder of the modern-day Jehovah's Witnesses and so finding out about his time gives a basis for coming to conclusions about those who are his successors.

Mrs Ozzie herself never wanted to know about the Rutherford era, she just wasn't interested, but when she did...pow! It really hit her just what a deceptive setup she used to belong to.

To give you a bit of the flavour of Joe Ratherflawed, try this quote from the Watchtower of May 15, 1937. It's taken from a study article and is found on page 153, paragraph 31.

"Such self-willed ones do not have an understanding. They do not recognize that the Lord is directing his work, that the Lord Jesus at the temple has his own good way of doing things, and that he transmits to his anointed ones the necessary information, and if the instructions sent out are wrong, then the responsibility is to the Lord and not to the local service committee."

Get it, I've added emphasis to the quote but clearly his arrogance even took him above Christ. "If anything's wrong, it's not our fault, it's Jesus' fault." he's saying here. Blasphemy!

There's much to learn about the Rutherford era. A good start may be Randy's site www.freeminds.org where you'll find articles and publications on the subject which you can obtain.

    Enjoy the journey to freedom!

    Cheers,
    Ozzie
