Here is something I have done a few times to see what
people's responses will be.
I have asked people that I know (for instance, some are
people that I work with) the following question:
Suppose that some attorney is selected to fill in for a
judge for a few days when he is out of town. Should that
attorney use the title "Judge" for the rest of his life?
What would you think of such an attorney if he did use
assume the title "Judge"
Some responses:
"He sounds very pompous"
"He wanted control over people"
"He should not use the title 'Judge'"
OK, now what is the point of this? It is this:
Before asking this question, I do not mention
anything at all about Rutherford, Jehovah's Witnesses,
or the Watchtower. The question stands on it's own.
What it does show is that one attribute of Rutherford
is apparent to everyone from his allowing the title of
"Judge" to be used in front of his name.
It is POMPOSITY!
From the dictionary, the word 'pompous' is defined as:
"excessively elevated or ornate, having or exhibiting
self-importance, ARROGANT."
yep, perfect words to describe "The Judge"
