As a Pittsburgh Pirate/baseball fan I couldn't help but see a parallel from last night's action in the Pirates/Braves game. I'm sure most of you sports fans heard about the miscall that ended the game. If you were unaware:
Pirates were pitching in the bottom of the 19th inning. Yes, 19th inning. Runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Ground ball to the third basemen, throws it home and he's out... or not. Here's the video:

So here's where the JW mindset illustration comes in. Anybody with a pair of working eyes can see he was clearly out. Despite this fact, while browsing internet comments posted on the articles that talked about the call, there were people still saying that he was in fact safe. How can you possibly see a safe call there?
Alas, the mind is a funny thing. It makes us see things that clearly aren't there. Makes us prone to false reasoning. I don't know, it just seems to mimic the way the JW mind thinks.
