I have just read the Article 'Does God Have An Organization' from page 13 of The Watchtower, 1 June 2011.
Yesterday, two elders popped round to leave it with my dad who has not been to the meetings now in some time. I decided it would be interesting to eavesdrop into their little conversation as a section of it was about me. They encouraged him (and in extension me) to return to the meetings and to continue our fellowship with the brothers as JW's. They left my dad with this particular article to read which he did. He then handed it to me to read.
I have my own reasons for leaving the organisation, namely that im gay and that I feel I dont fit in anymore. My dad has become very angry with the way he has been treated lately and throughout the last 10 years or so. Because of this he no longer feels that this is Jehovah's organisation. Because I know im not accepted anymore by them, I have also been drawn to the same conclusion.
Anyhow, I have read this article and the title made me want to ask for some opinions on here. Does God have an organisation?
Im aware that the word 'organisation' isnt found in the bible but was adopted by JW's who put an UNNATURAL amount of emphasis on the term.
A few months ago I thought long and hard about this. I believe he does have organisation (notice the lack of the definite article). I dont see it in the sense as it is an entity, ie. a business or a legal or religious organisation. I concluded that Jehovah's organisation refers to THE WAY he has 'organised' the whole situation described in the bible. He 'organised' for his son to give his life so that we may be saved if we put our trust in him (John 3:16). Likewise he has 'organised' that his son is the ONLY mediator through whom we can get close to God (1 Timothy 2:5-6). Make sense? I think so. I believe this is Jehovah's organisation.
What do you all think?
