Started off with a small (24.5") chinook (king) salmon.

Then caught an average, albeit very bloody coho (silver) salmon.

Then, the big surprise came with a small thresher shark. Thought it was a big salmon due to the fury of the fight. Strong fish.

The business end of the thresher:

Next came a beauty of a chinook. Almost 40 lbs!!

Here's a look at the bounty.

Some nickel-bright coho on the tailgate of my truck:

Tonight, the fish brine. Tomorrow, I spend the day smoking them. Mmmmmmmm......smoked salmon.

The biggest fish I ever caught was smaller than the smallest of yours..lol.

But ya, good job, looks like it was fun

Sure beats being a "fisher of men".

My smoker has been running this weekend too.

The fish weren't anything like that size though.

Those big salmon look like good scrappers.

What do you do with threshers? We don't keep them. They are a lot of fun to get to the boat, but that's enough for us.

Cut the thresher into steaks, soaked the meat overnight in buttermilk, then grilled it. Absolutely delicious!

    Man, wish I was there!

The biggest (and only!) fish I caught was off the coast of WA and was a 24 lb. salmon. I was about 15.

24 lbs is a very respectable fish. Nice job!
