Well this guy certainly knows his stuff . . . and writes so comprehensively about a truly significant and widespread problem.
I was in a congregation in the late 80's which had a middle-aged couple, the wife of which had MPD as a result of ritualised and prolonged abuse by her Father. She had 11 "alters" one of which was a dog (use your imagination), which only barked. It was the most tragic, but at the same time intriguing distortion of the human psyche I have ever witnessed. We invited them to our home several times, but the gatherings were always an ordeal for everyone . . . and absolute torture for her. Occasionally congregation meetings were disrupted. Her husband was one of the kindest, humblest and patient men I've ever known. A few families were very kind in reaching out to help. The majority, including the Elders, kept their distance. One Elder even said to me . . . "this is not the place for people with those sorts of problems". That was my personal experience.
That things have not changed . . . even regressed in terms of the scope of this letter, demonstrates unequivocally that this organisation is out of touch and unloving at the most basic human level. It comes nowhere near reflecting the personality of the imaginary God they claim to worship. It shows those at the top clearly for what they are . . . heartless, cold and self-motivated to the point of psychopathy. And from another angle . . . weak, ignorant, sad and pathetic human beings.
