What constitutes the great Apostasy?

If you are talking about the big purge of 1980, it was losing Jesus as our personal mediator. Many in the organization from the GB on down had trouble with that. There were those studying the bible on their own and seeing that the new Watchtower declaration was wrong, etc. It was a witch hunt pure and simple. Crisis of Conscience talks about it. Brother (forget his first name) Merriman interviews, Randy Watters interviews, etc. Many of them went thru it and hearing their stories is best in my opinion.
If you are not talking about the 1980 witch hunt, then I have no idea haha.

Maybe the great apostacy is becoming a follower of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?

It's good to see that wannabe has started asking questions, instead of presuming to know the answer to every Biblical question and writing really long threads. That must take real humility.
Way to go, buddy!

According to the WTS, it is after the Apostles died and the evil Church Fathers started the Great Apostasy with the doctrines of the Trinity, Hellfire and the Immortal Soul...according to the rest of Christendom, it is cults like the JW's that constitute the Great Apostacy!

Centuries after the Apostles died, the believers in the Trinity decided which writings would be accepted as their Holy Scriptures.
Little wonder they got it wrong. Pity the WTS still includes those forged documents in their NT.
