Well, not really his first, he turned 17 yesterday. It is his first that we have celebrated! His mom got him a cake with candles and sang happy birthday to him. I gave him a probably cheesy Batman b-day card w/what he wanted most-cash. My sister told him we were starting a new practice of acknowledging birthdays. It felt good.

Kids, no matter what age, love having their day acknowledged. My daughter's birthday was a couple of days ago, she turned 14 and is sprouting her teen wings (currently mom and dad are totally uncool), but she still wanted us to sing happy birthday before she blew out her candles. She's still my little girl. :)

Serenity your the Cool aunt now!! I celibrate my 14th birthday on Monday. I will be 37. I'm going to dinner with some apastate friends who all had brithdays this week. We are going to party like its 1999!! W00t!!
