Do you have to be "in the right"?

for one reason and another i've noticed recently that JW's just have to be in the right about everything. Not just their religon, they have to be in the know and correct about everything. Cannot bear to be told they are wrong.

I reckon its that JW superiority complex " i'm right and if you don't agree well god will shortly kill you and i'l get your house!"

or is it just me that has encountered this?

I'd say not ALL are like that but it seems those that are "up the chain" think they know EVERYTHING! My favorite is getting health advice from un-healthy pioneer sisters!!!FS

I was most certainly that way as a JW. Becoming a Christian has been very humbling.

Psalm 73:22 I was so foolish and ignorant—

I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

Yes, you young whippersnapper, I DO have to be - er, 'happen' to be - right all of the time!!!

    But seriously...

People who are poorly educated or under-educated often feel inferior, and therefore can feel compelled to be viewed as "correct" on every issue...

Whether or not such a viewpoint is fully in touch with REALITY - is another matter, all together...

Ah, JustMom, you can go back and 'edit' your posts for up to 30 minutes after you've made them...

There's some aspect of the format that you post in, that affects whether other posters can see your post. I can't - see your posts, that is...

Unfortunately, I don't know what the details are, but if you use the search function and look up "Why aren't my posts showing up?" or "Why can't anyone else see my posts?", you might find an answer in the "Technical Help and Support" section of this forum...

I notice it in the more indoctrinated dubs. The more they actually believe the WTS BS, the more they think they're right in everything they spout. It's as if the delusional belief of being in on the this great secret of surviving "the end" gives them some kind of super power where they're more enlightened and understand the world better than anyone else.

The ironic thing is that they percieve themselves as enlightened and perceptive when actually they're ignorant and clueless as to what they're talking about. They come across as some backwards hick that just stumbled out of the woods.

My M-I-L is one of these. She lives a fairly sheltered life, is naive as to anything outside of her experiences and relies strictly on the WT publications for her opinion of what's going on in the world around her. She watches just enough cable news to instantly lump anything bad happening as a "sign of the end". And she will authuoratatively lecture anyone within ear shot her extensive knowledge and insight of all things that are going on in the world. I have to leave the room when she gets going. Stupid people irritate me to no end...
