So we have been told that if you know your car has bad brakes and you take a group of people out in it and the brakes fail, causing an accident in which people die...you have (drum roll) BLOODGUILT!
Why is that? Because the intellectual titans of the WTBTS say that even though we are no longer under the Mosiac law, the great PRINCIPLES still apply.
They have trotted out that argument on various occasions when they want to re-enforce the old law covenant while at the same time attempting to wiggle around the entire book of Galatians: we're not under law, but we can be made to dance it its tune by playing the flute called "principle." (This from an organization that doesn't have any itself.)
Well, I seem to remember that there's a place in the law that men are told, in no uncertain terms, that they are not to cut the corners of their beards...or maybe it's not to cut their beards nor round the corners of their heads. Whatever. If the law can be reapplied insofar as bloodguilt is concerned, then why not beards? Why is it OK to pick and choose which part of the law's great PRINCIPLES apply today and which do not?
Apparently you can do any damn thing you want when you're the only channel of communication that God is using today. Pick this scripture; toss that principle; ignore Galatians over here; apply it over there.
Christ, what a load of utter twaddle. I can't believe I ever bought any of it...Oh, yeah, I forgot. I was raised in it. I have an excuse. What's yours?
