I almost made the trip to see...
But i decided not to when i woke up this morning. For me it would be a 2000km round trip, 3 days off work and cost me $500 too.
Why did i decide to not go?
this will be a mentions hearing not a court case day. The magistrate and the police have as best i can remember spent the last month anylizing the results of last months hearing, and between them and the dept of public prosecutions will probably decide whether to proceed or not.
I felt that all the effort of going may be for a one hour summary, but it may go all day, i have no real idea although i would dearly have liked to be there if they issued arrest warrants for the GB. Now i have not gone i hope it's an absolute corker of a day and that the floor gets wiped by WT attorney's heads!
I think what might go down is:
60/40 iether way on arrest warrants for the GB...60 they won't because they are in America, and 40 they will because they want answers and accountability. I can't see them or a legal team turning up for them though.
They will decide not to proceed against the faithful and discreet slave because they do not exist. That in itself is a big plus in that it may be used to further prove the lies rather than if they actually tried to charge 'them'.
The other cases against the various corporations i just don't know. Will they proceed to charge American Corporations? We were a little surprised to see that the WTBTS of Aust is not indicted, i guess if they were it may look better but i am sure they are reasons better known the Steven why he left them out.
The DPP will not take on a case they don't think will have a good outcome. Lots of public $$$$ will be wasted by the WTBS as it is if any go ahead.
I really hope it does not fizzle out and that at least two cases go ahead, the government, the public, the JWs and the victims have a right to answers and accountability by this weasel religion.
