On 25 March 2015 Joseph McEnroe was found guilty of the 2007 mass killing of six members of his then-girlfriend's family, including two young children aged 3 and 5. A jury is currently deciding whether he should be executed.

Associated Press has recently reported that...

McEnroe confirmed that he felt some sort of acceptance with Jehovah's Witnesses until he told elders he didn't have a guilt-free conscience. He stopped studying to be a minister.

McEnroe was quoted as stating the reason why he stopped studying being that...

"I felt that I had failed and that I had been rejected by God at that point."

Letter issued by Watchtower Society in 1992 that elders do not have to report to the authorities known serial killers and mass murderers.

I have rather small problems in seeing the irony that you don't have to report a serial killer, but you have to form a committee if he tasted a bit of weed ............................

I don't know how some of the Elders sleep at night. Not one mention in the letter about the victims or their families.

If there are lurkers on here...don't you see something wrong here? All these posts with BOE letters always mention how the congregation has to protect itself and WTBS. No mention of the victims and their families. That should tell you something.

I agree with TheOldHippie. They form a committee for pot smoking but if he murdered someone, well it's up to his conscience to come forward. WTF?

Well...2007 would qualify as "some years in the past." If this guy has evidence of Jeehoobie's blessing there is no reason he can't be baptized and appointed.

We moved a few years before this happened, it was just up the road from our house. We may have met these people as it's a small town, but I don't remember doing so. I've been following the case since it happened. This guy is completely nuts, watching video of the trial you realize just how wacky he is.

Even if they give him the death penalty he'll be around a long time, the current governor has said that he will not sign a death warrant for anybody, for anything.
