I have a female friend that has been having chronic earaches. She has been going to the health clinic frequently lately. I saw her today and she is very hyperactive and feeling good. I have never seen her so hyperactive before. Does it have to do with dealing with her earaches? (puzzled)

In some countries, registered health professionals have an obligation to advise patients about the side-effects of specific medications. Often they give patients printed information about the safe use of medication with a list of likely side-effects and which side effects need to be reported and monitored. If you're in doubt and/or concerned about your friend, urge her to go back to the prescribing health professional.

Some medications can cause hyperactivity. Others can cause sluggishness. I had one that had the unfortunate side effect of "excessive yawning"...that was NOT fun. I must have yawned 100 times a day...

My doctor gave me a decongestant to open my ear passages. Same thing people cook down for Meth. I can not spell it. Yes - wound me up PLUS I was no longer in pain! WHOPPEE!!

For chronic earache apply one drop of pure alcohol (buy over counter at chemist) in ear. It sterilizes the ear and numbs the pain. Put cotton bud in ear for it not to leak out. Even safe to use for children. Virtually no side-effects. For what it's worth.
