OMG I can not believe the amount of literature we accumilated over the years as JW's !

I threw away two full garbage cans full of bound volumes two yrs ago .A year before that I threw all the loose magazines away . I kept one box of my moms really old stuff in the garage . Today I was cleaning out a bookcase cupboard and found the whole bottom shelf was JW literature .....there was a bag of KM's from 2006 back to early 1990's. All the copies of study books back at least twenty yrs . Unopened video tapes .

GOOD Grief ......Did you realize just how over loaded we were with this stuff when you were a JW ???

I threw a lot away ,but something makes me hold on to some of this crap I will never look at ....why is that ? sentimental ....or just wanting to keep proof around on what crazy beliefs we use to have ?

Some of the old books are worth money now To prove they are false prophets.
E.bay had some requests years ago for the Studies in Scripture they were offering $300.00

I threw TONS of stuff away. Well--many of the magazines I took to the recycler. I had lots of old bound volumes and stuff that I gave to my JW parents to donate to the hall or whatever... I did this to curry favor with my parents, not to disseminate WT info, of course.

I still have the 2 NWT copies that were mine growing up and a "Reasoning" book [what an ironic title!!]... I think that's it.

I'm down to a nicely bound NWT (w/the reasoning book included in the back) and an old green bible. I think there are a couple of the bigger books somewhere. The books that replaced the Aid book are still around and the dark blue/almost black book with chapters on each book of the Bible. (how cool is that? I can't remember names of books anymore...)

There are a few of us who collect these publications and also list on ebay. Some collect for reasons of showing up errors in the history and writings of JWs and some because of alliegence to the organization and an interest in their history. Personally I have found the errors and misleading statements appalling. I have handled two JW estate books etc. for families who lost loved ones and were not interested in keeping the books etc...I asked for a small percentage of sales. It takes a lot of work to write up a description, take pictures, communication back and forth with buyers or interested parties, packing and shipping, etc... I always look for "keepers: as I call them as well, from estates, swap meets, or people getting rid of the books or memorbilia....and offer an honest price if they are so inclined. It is best to do it yourself obviously, but some don't want to take the time.... Contact me by PM if you want me to help. Honestly the items that are post-1940s, are hardly worth the trouble except in a few cases....List the PM in subject line under Bible Research and Study Articles, then I'll see it. Not promoting anything, just explaining. Hope this doesn't ruffle any feathers....

I understand that if you roll the WT & Awakes very tightly they will burn for hours just like a log.
