My New Year's plans were luckluster. A job search coach wanted me to meet a select group of her friends for several reaaons. Her friend who lives in the most elegant part of Philly invited me to a party on New Year's Day. The exurb churces annoy me. For ten years I've wanted to try out the Anglo Catholic church in Philadehia. So the plan is to go to tomorrow. I am looking forward to meeting peers who may have much networking advice for me. Besides the Anglo Catholic church, there was talk of famous jazz mass churches.

My spirit leaped at the chance. It puts extra pressure on me but that it only normal life. With the alternative lifted up and more immediately present, my blues are scattering.

This was so last minutes but I am so glad for the privilege. May the New Year be a doable challenge for you.

BAND ON THE RUN- Happy new year to you as well ! And all other folks on here ! I'm glad for you that you are doing something you want to do tomorrow ! Your statement, " May the New Year be a doable challenge for you " - Well, it's 4 : 00 A.M. in the morning out here in California and the new year is kicking in the same way our old year exited - with our 15 yr.old black lab dog $hitting all over herself and spreading it on the floor. Actually having the time of my life cleaning it up as I have a poop fetish. ( Not really. ) I'm trying to keep the dog quiet on the front porch as she smeared it on herself- we can't let her inside. I don't want her to wake the neighbors up so I have to go out and tell her to " be quiet " every 2 minutes. Life's little inconveniences. Oh the joy

    Flipper,

Our Jack Russell evidently found some prime dog dirt to roll around in for about half and hour. She returned home and did her usual cry to let her in. The stench was extraordinary. We were wretching. Yet she could not undertand our attitude. In her eyes, she was delighted to the nth b/c she was a dog among all dogs. Let the other dogs top that! It took 45 minutes to clean her b/c no one could work in more than short spurts without vomiting. There certainly was a difference in adorable puppy vs. human values that day. LOL- I understood her pride in an abstract way but all my bodily senses wanted to put her up for canine adoption. We adored her. My JW father hit small dogs in the head and kicked them down basement stairs. Dogs who never met him before would automatically start to attack him. The first act when he died was the Jack Russell.

We could not lavish enough love, cuddling, mirth, appreciation on her. One very spoiled pooch.
