Three men have been found guilty of a gay hate crime after handing out leaflets calling for homosexual people to be given the death sentence.
Ihjaz Ali, 42, Kabir Ahmed, 28, and Razwan Javed, 27, were found guilty of stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation.
They distributed a leaflet entitled Death Penalty? at a mosque and through letterboxes, Derby Crown Court heard.
It is the first prosecution of its kind since new laws came into force in 2010.

Whether or not it is a "hate crime" to hand out the rags, it is perpetrating a scam. At best, you are threatening people with death unless they join your religion, which is extortion (those writing the rags are most responsible, along with those pushing the members to hand them out under threat of destruction). It is also a scam--again, those writing the rags and those threatening members to force them to hand out rags are the ones that are most responsible.
The hate crime is actually committed by whoever scumbags are writing the rags. Those that write that apostates should be slaughtered (along with those directing them to write these pieces of rubbish, and those who force members to distribute them under threat of getting destroyed) are the ones that are committing an actual hate crime. Everyone else is just an accessory to a scam, and possibly trespassing and harassing householders.
