Works? As I recall, the very core of Christianity is that we are all defective because of a single act some 6,000 years ago, Jesus came to die, his dying cancelled the effect of that sin, that faith in that sacrifice was the only work you need to benefit from it, and that it was a perfect, complete sacrifice to which nothing ever need be added. When you go out and preach about it (and pretend to be doing it from the heart, getting hounded to do more), you are effectively adding to that sacrifice. At best, you leave the once-perfect sacrifice out of balance and requiring more to balance it out. At worst, you nullify the sacrifice, desecrating it. Neither is good, and at best you are wasting your time and resources.
Now, if you were looking at Islam, their core platform is doing good works in the name of Allah. It matters not what those good works are--planting flowers in your front yard, changing a common-area light bulb or smoke alarm battery that has died, and doing an extra-good job at work to lighten others' load would all qualify as Muslim "good works" if done in the name of Allah. (Of course, it's when the core gets corrupted that you run into problems--each time you add layers of rules, you ruin a once-fine core. The Five Pillars do some damage, and additional rules making Sharia and Jihad Laws do even worse damage.)
But, the last I knew, Jehovah's Witlesses is NOT an Islamic religion. Therefore, works should play no role. As it is in the Christian family (and believes that Jesus' sacrifice is needed for salvation), there is no room for demands or houndings for works.
