When I read today the introductions of new JWD members, I got the feeling that worldwide many of the members of the congregations have their doubts and are fading away from the watchtower community. Personaly it makes sense for me. 1) to see i'm not allone 2) to see that there is realy something going on!

I feel very angry about the Society. The way they treat people, the double standards, the manipulation, trying to make people guild at conventions and by publications.

Then I feel very sad, knowing that i'm a 4th generation witness, and oversee the family history and the importancy of this believe for my passed away family members. They never missed an evening in the congregation, they never missed a convention, they never missed their fieldservice in whole their live.

So, I'm realy f***** u* about this religion, the religion of me and my family... Knowing that when I get rid of it, I will miss it, how crazy!

You'll miss what was... Before you opened your eyes. Sometimes I miss some of the people I knew and I wonder how they are (mostly the young teens I would spend time with in the congregation...I was like a big sister to some of them). But then I remember a dear sister who was single and older and died of breast cancer...and how hardly anyone was ever there for her, even though she was faithful and a wonderful person. And I realize that these "nice" people really don't care about others unless they are in the same circle of friends, and even then it's superficial...if their best friend decided to change beliefs, they'd drop them like a "bad associate".

Unfortunately, we can't help the path that was chosen for us generations before our birth...but we CAN choose the path that we will take now, and the fact that future generations don't have to be subjected to what we were.

You will heal, slowly, but it will happen. Sometimes things from my past creep up and I react a certain way to things and I have say "Hold on a frickin' minute...this isn't ME...this is the CULT me...".

Your family never missed meetings, etc because they didn't know the truth and were happy to remain brainwashed and faithful to a corporation. They simply were ignorant. You are not. While it's hard because you want to be loyal to them, if you don't believe in an afterlife, they don't know either way whether you stick with it or you don't. I personally believe in reincarnation, so I do think that they are aware of the mistake they made during their life...and are possibly hoping you stick to your guns and start living instead of wasting what life you have left. I think they'd be proud of you for taking a stand...because they know now that they were wrong.

You won't miss it after only a few months.

You'll actually wonder why you didn't leave sooner.

This is merely one of many destructive cults that treats its members like trash.

it has always amazed me how they think they are loving caring people unless something happens in the family and then you see them for what they really are.

"You'll miss what was ... Before you opened your eyes".

Absolutely.. One misses the comradery, the spirit of togetherness, the "specialness" all the good times.

But they have gone. The bubble has broken and you now see through it. It is not the same any more. I used to say that it just unravelled like a broken string vest......

Time to slip out the back Jack, Hop on the bus Gus, don't need to be coy Roy.......just get yourself free!
