I sense a lot of desolation among some of you here. Desolation related to having been disfellowshipped and separated from people who you have known and loved for many years. So, for the sake of conversation, I wanted to drop this little bomb...I wonder whether the Watchtower Society could, in any sense, be that "disgusting thing that causes desolation" mentioned in Jesus' prophecy. I mean, they ARE standing in the "holy place" what with claiming to be God's mouthpiece. It's also kind of disgusting how God's qualities like love and mercy are tucked away in the background, favoring "discipline and organization" instead.

    I don't know, I'm just ranting.

yes Sir.. that makes sense.. But i don't believe in the bible so it's a moot point.... find out how the bible came to be .. then see if you want to take any of it's claims seiously...

extrodinary claims demand extrodinary proof... think about it ... why is it so important to GOD for YOU to believe in HIM with no evidence .. which is the definition of faith..

I think Jesus was talking about the Jewish temple, not about some latter day religious organization that considers itself to be the focal point of history.

The WTS does fit one statement of Jesus, though: "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing."
