Who was the immediate commanding officer that ordered the burning of the Qurans. General Allen took responsibility and apologized but an officer under him at the prison made a serious misjudgement or a direct attempt to insult Muslims. One piece of can turn the public, like the photo of the young girl in Viet Nam who was napalmed forever turned the public.

Afganistan is a strange and backward country and the #1 Opium/Heroin producer in the world by supposedly religious people. How have the poppy fields continued to operate after all these years, they are pretty obvious from the air. It is like Viet Nam's Golden Triangle where Opium/Heroin never ceased during all those years our young troops fought and died over there. Something is very wrong. I hope we exit soon.

Gingrich weighed in saying our President should not have apologized to President Karzai over the Quran burning because a Afghan solider shot and killed two US soliders apparently in retaliation. Somehow Muslim on Muslim killings are not in the same realm of evil as a book burning. It will get worse this weekend as the Muslim clerics stir up the populace with their sermons.

I remember my High School buddies who were killed in Viet Nam all those years ago.

They need to leave the dark ages behind and move into the 21st century.

Murdering someone because of burning a book of doubtful provenance has happened before, it is totally dark ages mentality, in other words based on ignorance.

I do hope that education is brought to those who ignorantly believe that a book written by men is to be treated in that way, that any single place on earth is "Sacred", of course a lot of that education needs to get through to a huge percentage of Americans and others in the West who still believe in gods and spirits and ghosts etc.

A lot of people on Earth need dragging into the 21st Century.

Who was the idiot that thought burning the Quran wouldn't result in a backlash?
