    The term "emotional icebergs" simply means that only a small portion of an emotion and reason for it are apparent. The majority is "below the surface", not known to bystanders and sometimes not even known to the individual experiencing it. If you notice a disproportionate emotional response to something, an iceberg may be the reason.

    Interesting. I have noticed that some things provoke an immediate emotional response for me even though there's no valid reason. It's something I need to keep working on.

    I'll just say that I'm glad that I'm seeing a professional psychologist regularly.

    Hmmm....

    That might explain why some threads tend to "blow up" in peoples' faces, or that some posters have a hard time accepting opposing viewpoints...

    Or, as in my case, have a difficult time accepting "faith-based" mentalities that tend to reject science-based evidence.
