Friendship
A friend is there to have a part,
On life's rich tapestry impart,
A sense of being, quite instilled
Of love and life on which to build.
A piece of heart, though never measured,
Holds that friend, forever treasured.
When darkened days should trespass near
A friendship's light will banish fear.
A friendship lasts eternally
Something that cannot be set free.
Who knows its source, from whence it came,
Yet in its pow'r we feel the same.
While hard to find, and then to grow,
A friendship will ne'er overthrow,
The trust that equally embraced,
Has caused sweet union ne'er effaced.
