From A Devoted JW to A agnostic, what happened?

I liken it to A Wall street top broker who ends up as

A homeless person. In the eyes of my family (not JW)

who are very religious, they think I have lost my mind.

I am A rarity in the black community, A minister (was A

one time A friend) told me, your mom and dad are turning

over in their graves, they would be devastated to see you

have turn your back on God. In the black community

God is A major player in their life. An old class mate in and

out of jail most of his adult life, tells me how great God is.

I have known one person in my life who was black, and he

is my wife EX (A professor at the university) a agnostic.

That,s it folks, in the black community

if you do not beleive in God you are like A homeless person,

or A person with leprosy. So when I see people that I have

not seen for years and they knew me as A JW and they ask

so what church do you go to. When I tell them I don.t beleive,

they are shock, speechless. From A devoted JW to A none beleiver,

    how did it happened.

I'm in the Bible belt, not black, but get the same vibes. I tell people I'm Christian but deep down inside I'm Agnostic but try to act like a "Christian" in that of being good to others...

    Jam,

Only you can tell us how it happened.

    Every person's journey is unique.

Jeanetta from Akron, Ohio (a.k.a. YouTuber JeansTake) asks why there seem to be so few black atheists.

Arkansas non-theist here.... and saying I live in the Bible belt is putting it mildly. "Southern Baptist Belt" would be more appropriate.

Jam, I've got a black friend who is a closeted non-theist. Meanwhile, his brother is a Black Hebrew(?), which is really crazy.

I think it is a shock to many of us how fast the years of indoctrination lose there effect, and soon the free thinking takes us down the path that leads to non belief of some sort.

This starts as non belief in the WT/JW religion, some do not get much beyond that, though they are free to keep asking questions of themselves and their beliefs, they stop for some reason, probably a fear of not having that crutch of belief to lean on.

Others continue with breakneck speed, ask Cantleave on here how quick it was from practising and believing Elder JW to him being a non believer, a house of cards falls slower than that guy moved !

Just on the male/female divide, on here, JWN, am I right that there is a bigger female than male contribution to regular posting ? Not that it would mean anything, just wondering.
