    Doomsday prophet admits error

Harold Camping, the elderly California preacher who found fame when he predicted the end of the world admits he was wrong.

"Events within the last year have proven that no man can be fully trusted. Even the most sincere and zealous of us can be mistaken," wrote Mr Camping, in a letter to listeners of his evangelical Family Radio program.

You didn't really think this post was going to be about the WTBTS, did you?

Because admitting error is something the WTBTS will never, ever do!

My late brother stuck with the original Worldwide Church of God when, in 1995 (circa), they made a major split. The new ones admitted a bunch of errors because in the form of doctrinal changes. Some 5,000 stuck with the original group. Like Camping, I believe they used the "apology" word.

Yes, apology is one word that is not in WTBTS vocabulary. With the sheeples, however, that's different. That word is very important for them as they are in front of a judicial comittee. The GB, however, are exempt from wrongdoing and apologies.

Pfft. That isn't an apology or admission of error. It's like the husband caught cheating on his wife who replies, "nobody's perfect, it's the temptresses fault for seducing me." It's an excuse, and a rather lame excuse at that. "Ohhh, well, everybody is mistaken at least once."

There are plenty of people that I can fully trust... BECAUSE THEY DON'T CLAIM TO BE THE VOICE OF GOD!!!!

Normal people are able to say, "well, this is what I think..." And they don't think I should die for disagreeing with them.

Sincere and zealous people are able to say, "I choose to believe..., because..."

I trust my professors because they encourage me to question, be skeptical, and examine the subjects. They don't claim to know everything. They don't demand that I trust everything they say. Yet, the fact that they're open to challenges gives me more confidence in what they teach.

It's stupid doomsday prophets who can't be trusted. Anyone that would doubt their "words from God" are considered faithless and fit to die when the end comes... very soon. When the end doesn't come... "Opps, we all make mistakes." Not only can't they be "fully trusted", they can't be trusted even 1% of the time.

But was it really an error since all the hundred of thousands $$$ collected are still in the pockets of who professed these lies ?

Harold Camping Ministries collected hundreds of thousands in recent years.

Thats enough to make any man forget what he did to gain that wealth.

And no they're not legally libel to give it all back in case anyone is wondering.

Of course you're right, but IT'S STILL MORE THAN THE GOVERNING BODY OF JWs WILL EVER DO!

But he might die with a smile on his face since at the time he will most likely be lying on a bed of money. $$$
