My dad is considering having this treatment and I wonder if anyone knows anything about it or has any personal experience of it.

hi simon! my jw cousin is actually undergoing this treatment right now due to lead poisoning. an uncle of mine knows a great deal about the treatment and is the one who convinced my cousin to take it. i could ask my uncle for some good info on it and ask my cousin about the process and email you if you want. though it may be a few days.
have you looked on the net??? did you spell it right? for some reason i thought it had two 'i's. *shrug*

is your dad doing much better? i hope so.

    Simon,

I looked at many, many sites pertaining to this and all seemed quite favorable.

Here is a link to one that is quite extensive, right down to the financial cost.

Chelation is both standard procedure for treatment of heavy metal poisoning, and an extremely contoversial treatment for heart and circulatory problems.
If you are researching this, make sure that the information does not come from a site where someone can get financial benefit from promoting it's use. It isn't covered by healthcare where your Dad lives, and isn't approved as an efficacious treatment.

Yes, it seems everyone has an 'interest' when it comes to expensive treatments - people with new treatments wanting you to give your money to them and people with existing treatments not wanting to see the money disappear.

It seemed to have some good reviews but then others saying it was not proven which is why I wanted to see if anyone had first hand experience of it.

Like you say, it isn't covered by healthcare where my dad lives so we'd probably sort out the expenses but this isn't really an issue.
