Huxley on how to control followers

I was just directed to a great website lettersofnote.com that contains many famous and interesting letters. One is from Huxley to Orwell, and displayed at 1984 vs Brave New World. Huxley made the following prediction in 1949 on how a government can control its followers, which seems to align with the methods used by the Governing Body.

"I believe that the world's rulers will discover that infant conditioning and narco-hypnosis are more efficient, as instruments of government, than clubs and prisons, and that the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience."

The Watchtower strongly uses infant conditioning. Whilst not using drugs, or hypnosis to the extent probably suggested by Huxley, the meetings are hypnotic in their boring repetitiveness, which allows the information to enter unfiltered into a follower's subconsciousness. The result is a group of people that feel love towards the impositions the GB place on them.

Do you agree with the parallel, or am I pushing it a bit far?

Completely off topic, here is a letter from Einstein regarding God and Jews. http://www.lettersofnote.com/2009/10/word-god-is-product-of-human-weakness.html

You're right. These are the mind-controlling techniques used by the GB and it's hierarchy of leadership to control.

One of the functions of songs and prayers at the beginning of meetings is clearly to get people in an altered state of mind to let down any defenses and open their minds to readily accept whatever information is presented to them.

You'd think they'd try to have better music.

They are good techniques, but even the Watchtower org can't hold on to it's youngsters once they come of age. You may remember that it is said that JWs have one of the most moblie religions. Meaning that most who are brought up according to the organisations rules , leave sometime in their adulthood.

@jwfacts: No, Not pushing it at all, they force feed us by cramming "love" down our throats.

@00DAD: I agree, everything is set in place for conditioning, and if we don't get every part it doesn't work. Meat-ing just don't have the same effect if you aren’t there for the first note of the song to the amen of the closing prayer; just like hypnosis doesn't work if you miss any part of it.

It may work for some but not everyone.
