No, "their" is a word to describe 'a thing belonging to them'.

OK I`ll try again ( hit the wrong button ) or was that the angels saying dont ask a stupid question.

It seems a lot of folk here rellish smart arse comments when JW`s call on them and putting them down, dismissing them and feeling goody goody when the witnesses walk away tails between their feet so to speak .

Is it just me ? Who feels this way ?

I feel it`s a lost opportunity to make someone ( JW ) to stop and think what he/she beleives and why they beleive it.

OK !!! the majority will not respond to what we say initially ,but the seed can be planted ,isn`t that what we learnt from the JW~s and theirs an element of truth to that statement.

The majority of you people were die -hard JW`s ,some of us would have sacrificed our own flesh and blood for this religion beleiving it to be the truth, now look where you are, shouldnt these people be given the same opportunity to be freed from this bondage they have ? Of course they dont know it yet, but why not use the same tactics JW`s use, against them.

Sooner or later the penny will drop. It did for you and me didn`t it ??

Smiddy ! I agree with you 1000% (is that possible ?) I think some on here were the kind of JW who loved to "win" an argument at the door "He mentioned the Trinity ,so I hit him with....." They must have made JW's really popular (not). They are now engaged on a reverse crusade to alienate the JW's .

When I look back, O.K there was the proverbial straw, but that of course would not have broken this camel's back if all the cognitive dissonance had not been building up for years.

I was a bible believing born-in. A hard nut to crack, but more stuff having come my way earlier would have saved me earlier.

What a great thing to have a part in, giving someone a life ! and as you say, just the odd comment can do a bit of the work, I say, do whatever we can.

Add a straw or two to their load.

    Empathetic.

I can see where you're coming from. I don't like it when posters boast of humiliating JWs at the door with snarky put-downs and whatever. But sometimes the JWs call at the most inconvenient time. Or we've just had a bad experience with a JW family member which makes our blood boil. Or we reflect back on times when we had a good social life, or lots of business, and due to leaving the JWs, even being only inactive, we've lost all those "friends". Or we DO try to say something to make them think, and they come back with some braindead reply.

So sometimes the JWs at the door get the brunt of our frustrations. It may not be fair, but they called at our door, not the other way round.

No. I never was a dub, but I feel a need to challenge them as appropriate.

Sometimes when they call it's just not a good time. Sometimes, when they're obviously late-middle-aged sisters I just don't have the heart - their belief may be all they have to keep them going. Not my job to challenge their belief if they are happy with it.

For me, I tend to weigh uo the witnesses who call at my door. Some I just feel sorry for, smile, take the literature, and wish them well. Others, who are pushing their crap are fair game.

I have taken many opportunities to plant that seed. I can't say how many have sprouted or taken root, but I will leave that in their hands. Sometimes I can't help but be aggravated with them so I am known to be dismissive and crummy to them too. Depends on my mood.
