  It seems to me that this quote could be applied to certain Bible accounts as well. When seen as fables, they can transform us but when seen as literal their meaning or purpose is often lost or dies.

  When the truth becomes legend, print the legend - from the cowboy movie "The Man who Shot Liberty Valence".

  Look at all the theories/hypotheses out there; many have not one shred of solid evidence to support them, however some are believed so deeply that they are held as reality and fact.

  But then again without this deep conviction nothing would really be proven or debunked either.
