    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Who votes on this forum for President, local elections, I have never voted in my life.

I have served on jurys many times, no conscientious issues there, I know it is up to everyone to come to their own ideas, our "Speaker" made me think, Why can't I vote, or why should I not vote?

How does the "Forty Year Old Virgin" voter, Vote? Kind regards to all!

It really depends on which country you're in. In the UK, we have an electoral register, which you can join using links such as the one below:

    http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/

I'm sure other countries such as the USA, Canada or Australia will have similar online services for registering.

If you want to give an entirely different vote, you can take part in the 2012 JW Survey!!! (apologies for the cheap plug)

In the US I believe you can go to the Post Office and get the papers needed to register to vote. In Georgia, USA, you can go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and obtain the papers needed to register to vote. I have been

voting since the 80's. If you don't vote , you can't complain about what's happening. I vote in every election held.

Cedars, I have taken your survey.

Yeah, you can register at the post office and at the dept. motor vehicles. There are also voter registration drives, but those are becoming more difficult in some states due to recent laws---but some states still have them.

If you are in the US, go to your state's web page and there should be a link for voter registration with directions.

Here in Canada you register separately for federal and provincial elections. Here is the link for Elections Canada.

The Canadian federal government is trying to go internet for ALL their services, so there is a method of e-registering. Have fun with that.

Nevertheless, if you arrive at the polling station with valid ID, you can sign up on the spot.

I got all my registration done online, I believe all states in the USA can do it that way. Just google "Voter Registration <your state>" make sure whatever website you go to (if your in the USA) is listed as a .gov address. On that note it typically is handled by the county clerk if I remember correctly. In my state you can just do it online then you get a nice little Red White and Blue postcard saying you registered.

In Illinois you can register at the driver's license station. I don't know where else - probably the county courthouse.

It varies by state (I assume you're in the USA, since you said "president"). Many states now have registration at the Motor Vehice office, where you get a driver's license. Often there wil be registration drives when the deadline approaches, with a table at the supermarket or shopping mall (usually sponsored by whichever political party is in the majority in that neighborhood). Be sure to find out if you must register in the same county you live in. As Blind_Of_Lies said, be sure to check with the county clerk or election office to learn the local rules, and to find where and when to register--as well where, when and how you can vote. Then follow through, get informed about the candidates and issues, and be sure to vote!
