Here's a beauty of a trout (20.5") caught (and released unharmed) during this incredible hatch.
Awesome! I'm not much of a fresh water fish eater, but they are fun as hell to catch (like spastic little salmon).

I have fished the stonefly hatch on the Deschutes River and also on the Payette River in western Idaho.

I've never fly-fished. I've only ever used conventional tackle.
I don't know how to fly fish....but I love spinning, we can only do that in lakes and not near river outlets......nice fish!
