best friend get shepherding calls

  My closest friend has been missing meetings for 2 months now. Last week the c.o. breezed through town and the family finally got their shepherding calls.

  1st call : a m.s. asking for time ; my friend asked him if he was serious asking about service time when he must surely have noticed that the family hasn’t even been to a meeting in 2 months

  2nd call : elder and m.s rings the doorbell and hands my friend’s wife a grocery bag full of magazines. Apparently there was a 2 month accumulation at the magazine counter, they thought the family would be needing them, and decided to drop them off.

  You’d think they would have a least quoted a Bible verse like Matt. 28:19,20 ha,ha!

  Anyhow, I told my friend, don't say I didn't tell you so. The next time you'll be hearing from them will be when they invite you to your J.C.

  this merely shows the quality of elders and this MS is being trained to handle inactive folks the same way when he becomes an elder

  i couldn't help but think how many of us former elders would have handled this person

  the sheer lack of love and concern ( even if the religion is wrong) is truly missing - all the best , brightest and most caring elders of the wt are leaving and the only thing that will be left will be elders like this- he is merely the tip of the iceberg

  and to think that he is training the MS to do the same

  when i was a MS i was trained to:

  1. Love the Friends

  2. Never strip a man of his DIGNITY

  3. Learn Org Procedures like the BACK OF YOUR HAND

  but today the concern for the flock is all but gone- to day it is DO MORE DO MORE

  i used to always urge the bro to be balance take time off for the kids to the lake to the beach and i got dogged

  instead i would be followed the next week by a speakeer dogging those very things

  it reached a point where i could not take it any longer

  and like myself and so many other former elders up here on this site

  we left many of us wanted to try and change things , but we realized that REEFORM is not an OPTION

  How do these guys keep going? It's all so perfunctory,
  just follow the rules, you don't have to care, just go
  thru the motions.

  HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT THE ELDERS AND MS COME AROUND TO VISIT INACTIVE OR SICK ONES ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE CIRCUIT OVERSEER COMES VISITING. LIKE THEY MAKE IT APPEAR THAT THEY ARE REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT YOU HAVING MISSED MEETINGS FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT NEVER CALLED TO SEE IF YOU WERE ILL OR HAD SOME OTHER PROBLEM IN YOUR LIFE OR WAS THERE SOMETHING THEY COULD DO IN ANY AREA OF YOUR LIFE, ESPECIALY IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL AND NOT ONE OF THEM CAME TO VISIT YOU. DAH. SO NOW THE CIRCUIT OVERSEER IS VISITING THE CONGREGATION AND CHECKING TO SEE IF THE ELDERS ARE DOING SHEPHERDING CALLS, OR CHECKING WITH THOSE SICK OR HOUSE RIDDEN AND NOW THE ELDERS CAN SAY IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, OH YES WE HAVE BEEN VISITING THESE ONES. HA HA GIVE ME A BREAK. ONCE MANY YEARS AGO I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AND IT WAS THE MEMORIAL TIME AND THE CIRCUIT OVERSEER WAS VISITING AND HE TOLD ME HE WOULD COME AND SEE ME ON THE EVENING OF THE MEMORIAL, HE NEVER SHOWED UP NEITHER THE ELDERS, AND I WAS LIVID, I SAID NEXT TIME YOU PROMISE SOME ONE YOU ARE GOING TO VISIT THEM AND ESPECIALLY AT THE MEMORAIL EVENING MAKE SURE YOU DO. I TOLD HIM THAT THE NURSES PREPARED ME FOR HIS VISIT AND WHEN YOU DID'NT SHOW UP THE NURSES THOUGHT GEE WHAT KIND OF MINISTER IS HE. AND I CAN TELL YOU THIS HAS HAPPENEDD MANY TIMES OVER THE YRS TO ME AND I HAVE LOST RESPECT FOR THEM AS ELDERS AS THEY FELT SOMETHING ELSE WAS MORE IMPORTANT THEN THEIR PROMISES. NOW HOW WILL THEY ANSWER TO THE MASTER?

  PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF TIME !!
