Is it too much too ask that when one makes a concious decision to leave as one of Watchtower's JW "s without pomp or ceremony ie.(dissassociationg oneself or getting dfd) and trying to live life on ones own terms that you could be left alone?GUESS NOT! My sister left about a year ago has caused no trouble and has no influence on the congregation.NOT A CHANCE!!!I've heard elders have been at her place making sure shes still in line even on her own,GIVE ME A BREAK!!!Im still a JW but, sorry this is BS.I'm personally going to help her in anyway I can to stay ahead of this cat and mouse mentallity!!!!It seems this is an appropriate line, "If they can't control you from the inside they'll be glad to take it outside too!!!" [>:(]
Too much to ask?

I am not DFd or DAd, at first when I stopped going, the phone was always ringing, and quite a few came to visit me. many who had never been before, even the co,(though not a squeak from the PO)I don't know what will happen now. They have either got bored with me, or there are too many fights going on at the KH.Or maybe they are waiting to catch me out at something (what?)in order to DF me, ( because I know where the bodies are buried)Anyway I dont think the suspense will kill me. AS for your sister I guess it all depends on what is happening locally, how much the elders have to deal with, are they being pressured by co, but I'm only guessing.I do't think they CAN just leave things as a matter of concience/opinion, because that would mean there was no absolute Truth.

Those types elders are petty little control-freak window-washers. They will continue to throw their weight around as long as someone is willing to let them do it. If your sister told them to go fornicate themselves and if they bothered her again she would call the police, they would be effectively castrated out of her life.
The key? Don't play their game! They only has as much power as their victims give them.

The elders rang me about a year ago, requesting to see me that week. I had visitors staying with me at that time, and was rather busy, so I told them that I appreciated their concern, but now was not a good time for me, and that I will call them when I want to meet with them.
I never called them back, and so far, have been left alone.
As Farkel said, the only power these guys have over you is that which you give them.
