  JWs only account for .1% of the worlds entire population, of course they are unimportant, but if ask them, they are the most important people in the world.

  TALESIN - exactly. Whenever child abuse is front page news in the NYT, it's either the catholic church or Sandusky. But JWs? Who the hell cares. It's almost like there's an if-you're-so-stupid-to-join-a-cult-you-deserve-it mentality. I could be wrong (I'm probably wrong actually.)

  Good point. JW's claim this is persecution, but it really has little affect and hardly compares to first century Christian persecution. They also claim this case brings shame on Jehovah's name. but really all it shames is a 19th century cult and its out-of-touch leaders.

  BOC - I don't think you're wrong. BOTH the JWS and child rape are not big news, unless it's attached to something else,,, the RC scandal was big, and so was Sandusky.

  EDIT: If our society REALLY cared about this issue, the punishment would be greater - weed smokers get more time in jail than child molesters (generally speaking) ---it's disgusting.
