I thought religion would die and be forgotten as people get educated and realise its nonsense and full of mistakes, lies and fraud. I never thought they would self destruct the way they have by way of pedophile cases. Most people I know have no time for religion primarily because of the pedophile cover ups and disgusting treatment of the victims. Im not sure if these had not happened things may have been quite different at the least in the circle of people i know.

I think you are spot on mp, we could not have foreseen that paedophilia would be the cause of so many people waking up to the reality that all religions are a sham, and most often, a scam.

I still think that education is the key to really freeing people from the fears, superstion, and lies etc of religion. if only we could achieve that Society could move forward and solve all its major problems.

But anything that kick-starts the process is to be welcomed. so all the Paedophile scandals are of value.

I agree, education is key. The more people know, the more they are empowered to make a decision on what to believe. There's still a long way to go before people really "wake up" and realize that even if they do believe in a god or gods, an organized religion is just not necessary to exercise that belief and are simply a means to fleece people of their money and rob them of their free will.

    Wanna bake a JW's noodle ?

Ask them "what if people say no to 'the truth' because of the recent court cases/ scandals in the news paper? Now Jehovhah can't judge these people because they have a reason to say it was not a 'righteous' organisation and that its fruits did not appear appealing."

    Do these people die?

Do these people get some kind of extra chance?

Anyone can google this info now, so we are are talking about most people arent we?

If MOST of the world is apathetic to religion because of how religion behaves, how can god judge a human for being so moral he wants nothing to do with any organised religion!?

Has the Watchtower/JW's contributed or not contributed to the apathy and disgust shown towards religion?

I.e. Child Abuse and its handling of, its money, the rand cam 'error', the UN 'misunderstanding', the Miracle Wheat 'con'.... the Beth Sarim 'bullshit'

    Blahhh blahhh blahh

    Snare x

P.s. but seriously, this court case negates the whole JW intepretation on the theme of the bible because they are now themselves a NEGATIVE influence on a persons decision about God.

My boss was a Catholic and stopped believing after all the issues with Priests came to light. It has shown that damage the man made rules of religion can cause. Taking power away from religious leaders is a great outcome.

Too bad it takes that crap to ruin a religion. They molest children on both sides. First, they brainwash them into thinking sex is somehow sinful (along with a whole lot of other rubbish). That is where the molestation begins. Once they are so brainwashed into associating sex with sin, the priests (usually the very ones that brainwashed them) do something that amounts to "sex". This creates the image of the child being "dirty" in God's eyes, and that's where the whole thing becomes manifest.

    These religions have to go.

I dont know what planet your on but religion is not dying because of pedophilia.

Did you leave out an adjective, preposition, pronoun.

In your world all religion is dying?

Come down to florida on a Sunday morning.

Turn on the Christian channel on your television.

Then you have your muslems, hindus, bahais, buddhist, etc.

You are in the part of education where it is nonsense.

Wait till you get to the part of educatioin where it makes sense.

yes in my world religion is dying. i have four small churches within two blocks of my house, and i pass all of them every day walkibg the dog, going to station etc. i can honestly say they are nearly always empty except for a few faithful at one catholic chuech on thw weekends. that s.ame church is busy on xmas n easter hpwever. the others always look empty, if it wasnt for the knitting club type activities and fortnightly arts and craft flee markets they would never have anyone visiting. as for televiifsion, theres has never been a religious channel here. benny hinn and a few others have shows on sunday mornings but somrhow i doubt anyone others to watch them at four in the morning. i only know of three mosques and one budhhist temple and thats out of this city of four million. i live practically across the road from the olympic complex and i rarely see any religious conferences, at most one or two. there just isnt any. if religion is still alive i ccant smell it.
