I resisted all these weeks and finally I watched the clip of the new video: "Obey Jehovah" lol... are the really fracking serious with this? The snake holding the sparlock toy? rotfl.... I am embarrassed to still be a JW. I really don't know how I am going to keep a straight face while speaking to other witnesses about this. OMG!

Sparlock is old news on the board, but lots of JWs just recently made his acquaintance. I wonder what they think of him? I wonder how they reconcile obedience to Jehovah with the malicious behavior that the WT has promulgated for the last 10 decades or so? Yikes, glad I am not a JW.

We all have our reasons. One of them. Is stay in to help others to see the light. And another, we have family still in. When they see the light and leave then we can cause havoc.

Oh I didn't expect any responses because I know there's been 750 sparlock threads. I had to vent to someone, who better than you all. I am still in because of the reasons stated above, family...family..FAMILY! I try not to think about it and keep out of other jdubs business as much as possible while being kind and nice. What else can I do. As I get older, hopefullt I can use age/ilness to ditch the elder mantle. Until then I deal with a lot of bullshit. I will definitely let people know the reaction to sparlock in my cong.. but seriously OMG.

Hi. I was at my parents' house the week after the DC. I spied the 2 vids in the LR and walked into the kitchen. Dad was there alone, so I said "I see you have the new videos ... we don't want to make Jehovah sad, and Satan happy, do we?" *grinned, rolled eyes and chuckled* He chuckled, shook his head, and carried on.

I don't think we are the only ones who think it's ridiculous.

(Oh, and I would not say that to UBER JW, mom; it would get me shunned for reals.)
