Has there been any official announcement made regarding the new KH design? I am asking because I know some publishers on my cong that already seen the pics from elders who attended the presentation. Also made me wonder how long would it be before they have to dedicate a section of the meeting (local needs?) to tell people they are too distracted looking out the window. Let not fool you, the windows will help. Whenever you said or do something incorrect, they will tell you and you will argue. In turn, they will remind you that you probably do not know the new teaching because you were distracted by the window. You get no choice but to believe such thing was said. -

There was a video on JW Broadcasting detailing the new design and the new LDC arrangement, however the actual renderings were not on there. -

There is a new building on Hosmer in Tacoma WA.The ONLY ID on the actual building is JW.org! There is a sign on the gate (it locks up tight). I think the only windows are in the front lobby area, but I will have to drive by to see for sure.
It is very much an office/strip mall kind of building. Not real big-a branch of a credit union or a 2 person medical practice, maybe? But again, just looking at the outside as a drive by. It will be easy to sell once they drive out the congregation to another site and keep doing the flip game-it is in a very commercial area, very close to the local regional Group Health (HMO), and lots of hotels, restaurants, and other "right off the interstate" kinds of businesses. You could probably see it on one of those street view maps, but it looks really new. I just moved here, so I couldn't say for sure HOW new.

In the 50's the Kingdom Halls in the U.S. I attended were simple meeting places. No formal entryways with mirrors and flower arrangements just clean and functional. The floors were linoleum tiles, the chairs folding, and thanks to God...windows on the side walls.
I do not like the strip mall office look of the new halls but I do think it good to go back to a more simple meeting place where murals, pillars, etc. are not the focal point and where infants can be bottle fed without worrying about the seats getting stained. We went into a material stage and if this change can do a little turn around on that I'm for it.
Simple is good.
