I have just watched Spain beat Italy 4-0 in the Final on Euro 2012.

I have never seen a better example of football at its very best. Football really is "The beautiful game".

The Spanish national team are a phenomenal side - the envy of the world. They've now set a new record for back-to-back tournament wins having won the 2008 and 2012 European Championships, and the 2010 World Cup. Their squad is strewn with world class players. It said everything for me that Chelsea star Juan Mata was only brought off the bench in the dying minutes, and got the last goal. He's a first choice for European Champions Chelsea, but must content himself with a seat on the bench for his national team, such is the surplus of talent provided by the likes of Iniesta and Xavi.

I doubt we will ever see the like of this national side again.

And Puyol and David Villa were watching the game from the stands.

They have so many incredible footballers in that country, it almost isn't fair!!

    Must be Satan's work...

Until we value and reward quality youth coaching in England we will never get even close to that standard.

Too much emphasis on winning and not enough on developing technique.
