Does somebody have a list, even an incomplete one, of articles RF wrote? I know he contributed some to the Aid book and occasionally I come across an older article that reminds me of CoC or ISoCF. What about Ed Dunlap? (I don't know if he ever wrote anything.)

Ed wrote the 1979 book Commentary of James if I remember correctly.

RF wote an article in the WT in about 1974 or 75 titled something like "Jehovah Forgives Erring Ones" Or "Jehovah Provides Hope for Erring Ones" It was this article that actually got my Dad to go back into the organization. In one of his books, RF mentions this article and said how he thought it was a loving thing to do to show those who had been DF'd that they can be forgiven. It worked for my Dad, and the fact that he mentioned it to me specifically as the article that motivated him to get reinstated, proves to me what a powerful and motivational writer Ray Franz was. I was only 2 or 3 years old at the time the article came out, and Dad remembered it as late as 2006 the year he died. We spoke about it a few months before his death. His hope was that I would attempt to be reinstated, but it didn't work.

He alos wrote the articles on "sacred service" in the early seventies. It is mentioned in his book "In Search Of Christian Freedom" - A FANTASTIC book by the way. If you listen to an iPod while driving/working out look online for the audio version. It is on one of the bittorrent sites. If whoever recorded that is on this forum, I thank you.

Here is a link to the audio version of In Search of Christian Freedom. BTW the only reason I am reccomending this is becaust Commentary Press does not have a audio version available. Do his wife Cynthia a favor and order a printed version from Amazon.com as well.

His biggest writing project may have been the lead writer of "Aid to Bible Understanding". I have the 1971 edition, a huge (nearly 1700 pages) reference encyclopedia. It's successor is "Insight On The Scriptures" (1988), in 2 volumes.

    The period to research--1965-1980:

Raymond Franz became a JW when he was 16 (1938), became a writer at Bethel (JWs
world headquarters) in 1965 (he researched a lot of the JWs leaders' distinctive
views to help write "Aid to Bible Understanding," 1969, later revised a bit as
"Study in the Scriptures," 1988), was a Governing Body member from 1971 till he
felt pressured to resign on May 22, 1980, and was a JW till he was disfellow-
    shipped on Dec.31, 1981.

He says he enjoyed writing the particular WT article that lifted the ban on oral sex although he insists he never partook himself.
