In Eastern Europe, a significant portion of JW are Roma.

I came across this paper describing the conversion of a family in Slovakia and their religious lives etc..

    Quite interesting....

Obviously, there is a problem with prejudice from non roma JW vs Roma JWs,
since the society has published a video entitled «Our Romani brothers» to conteract this...
    (if I remember correctly)

Has anyone seen this video or know firsthand anything of Roma JWs in Eastern-Europe?

In Spain a "great crowd" of Rom-Kale, i.e. Gitanos, are leaving the Catholic Church and becoming Evangelicals. The main church is the Iglesia de Filadelfia, and when they go to Church they call it "el culto" which despite the etymological roots to "cult" actually means just "worship".

They sing flamenco during worship and use Jehovah and Jah all the time. They speak Calo' which is a mixture of Andalusian accented Spanish with Romani vocabulary thrown in. This Youtube video is worth watching if you like hard-core flamenco and gypsy culture.

In my family the Witnesses, American Missionaries, came calling when I was 10 and studied with my Mother and Grandmother--during the Franco days.
