I am listening to what I consider a very good discussion of the Historical Jesus. The lecture is for college students new to this area. Basic principles are presented very well. It is not pendantic.
I also downloaded some Christian seminary lectures but could not remove them fast enough.

Ditto, thanks Band, this is an area of study that interests me no end. It has long been my hope that some writings will turn up that shed more light on the true historical Jesus.
I have huge doubts that such writings ever existed though, historically accurate biography was hardly a genre of the time, perhaps the best we can hope for is a contempory record of his teachings, a bit like the "Gospel of Thomas", but written as soon as he spoke, that would be wonderful.
This is the Thomas Sheehan course?
I have it in my Itunes, I enjoyed it immensely.
