Real Events Always Come to Pass - Eventually...

The U K (media at least ) is beside itself with the Olympic Games.. It seems that we have been hearing about it for ever, In fact perhaps around 6 years..But now it is here! The day has arrived and the show is ready to roll.

Life is like that, it may be a personal milestone in life, like leaving school , or retiring from work. What once seemed so far off creeps up on you and it finally happens, your life changes. That can be said of any real event that is certain to come but contrast that with hopes and dreams. Many people play the lottery in the belief that "It must happen to me one day" but it never does. They live and die without the big win they had promised themselves. If they had saved the stake-money, it would have been a tidy sum.

Into which category do we place the WTS absolute promise that "You CAN live forever, on Earth , in paradise" Certainty, or pipe-dream?

They like to use the definiton of faith as "The evident demonstation of realities though not yet beheld" (Heb 11:1), yes realities and they always come to pass. They themselves wrote this in 2011

    Awake 1/11 2011 p28

"The Bible says, for example, that if your worship is to be “acceptable to God,” it must be “a sacred service with your power of reason.” In other words, you must worship God “in a way that is worthy of thinking beings.” (Romans 12:1; The Jerusalem Bible) So the faith described in the Bible is not something blind and irrational, or a leap of faith, as some have called it. And it is not credulity. Rather, it is something you have thought through carefully—resulting in trust in God and his Word, which is firmly based on reason.

Of course, if you are to reason properly, you need accurate information................"

So, let us act like "thinking beings" and reason that these spiritual leaders forecast that the end would come. in 1914, then before 1925, then "probably" 1975 - then??? but always "very soon"

It has been "very soon" for me ever since the 1960's , always perhaps a year or so away (except'75 when it was all but heare) but very soon.

The end pushes further away. Now after five decades of expectation I am criticised for facing the reality of its never coming. "Fair weather Christian" " Turncoat" " We can see you were only in it for your own ends" - You know the stuff.....

I would rather face up to the facts than continue in false hopes and dreams After all, realities happen and like the Olympics they arrive and pass into history. That is the difference.

Bluesbrother: I think now, after leaving the BORG, that the living forever story on a paradise earth is in fact a PURE PIPE DREAM. And after reading the story "The diary of a Armageddon surviver" NO WAY WOULD I WANT TO LIVE WITH J-DUBS FOREVER.
