I recently saw on the website for my local newspaper, an article about a guy who has recently been convicted of burglary and theft - is there a way to find out if he's been disfellowshipped?
Is it possible to find out if someone has been disfellowshipped?

Here is another related question. Is it possible to be disfellowshipped and not be informed? I am not aware whether or not I am disfellowshipped.
Maybe there is a website we can check:

I wonder if a Letter Of Enquiry to the appropriate congregation or branch might help?
For an example, an employer may only want to employ JWs in good standing, and could maybe enquire as to their standing...

So he's an active homosexual and got convicted for burglary - I can't see how he would avoid disfellowshipping, unless he had moved away and his former hall didn't hear about it and the local hall doesn't know he was a dub.
ETA - I don't think being homosexual is a bad thing - just that it seems to generally be an automatic DFing for active homosexuals.

The best way to find out if someone is disfellowshipped is to ask them yourself. The congregation he was last associated with might have his publisher's card or if he moved a lot it might have gotten lost in the cracks.
