Somehow when clicking on JW things, I ended up with JW news, history, etc. as a friend. It needs to be removed. People might not know me well and conclude that I am a Witness. How do I get rid of it? Any suggestions.

why is that a problem? friend them and send them a link to this site. They won't bother you anymore.

i think if you go into your Privacy Settings (upper right corner hit the down arrow next to Home)... go to Ads, Apps, and Websites. click on Edit Settings. I think by removing the apps and pages you have visited, and deleting the history with the apps, etc., it should remove its influence.

I did not realize how many were on my list. Of course, be sure it is an application you want blocked.

What browser do you use? I use Chrome and have installed an app that blocks all ad tracking.

I concurr , Facebook is a problem and I deleted it before the timeline feature got activated. I really don't miss the narcissistic style drama that friends were constantly bombarding me with.

    as comment from the UK--

"Modern Capitalism and its corporatist political system relies on breeding this type of consumer monkey to survive off. They are like cattle to be tagged, tracked and milked- Facebook is the incredible evolution of the means by which they tag and track themselves for the convenience of their corporate masters"

I get emails so I go to FB, primarily for networking purposes. It strikes me as a junior high school yearbook. Since I am not a teenager, I will never write my true feelings and concerns for all the world to see. I feel very bless with a few close friends.

I consider closing it ever time I visit.

I have a feeling that FB may interfere with friendship. My friends know me outside of FB. With acquaintances and co-workers, I see that they just write bs too.

Do I want future employers or the govt knowing my innermost thoughts? NO!

I dunno, maybe it's not such a bad thing: If you attract JW's, you have a golden opportunity to post innocent questions that will make them think. I learned this accidentally. My JWOP website has buttons for people to join the Google+, Facebook, and Twitter feeds of my site. AND.... many who sign up are JW's! (I did NOT expect THAT, given my "about" info on each site!) So, I've begun to focus on open ended questions to get them thinking without being confrontational.Think about this before making a decision.

If there are facebook pages you "liked" (and didn't realize at the time, what that meant!),, you need to go back to those pages, and remove the "Like" feature. Just click on the icon for that page, and then, when you're on that page, click on the 'Options' menu. That should give you the option to leave, or "unlike" that page.

    Hope that was helpful.
