The RNWT "Silver Sword" is taking its place in revised history.

It's no secret that I do not study for meetings, prepare for failed circus, conduct "Mormon night", or read the bible much or pray anymore. Even so, I do keep a close eye on the goings on in Dub-land.

I just noticed something interesting on the front page of the latest KM. In the source material for the #3 assignment "Why do Humans suffer?" the "nwt" is referenced. It should be the "RNWT" but it's not.

Is this a simple oversight, or simply Orwellian tactics? How long before the R&F stop saying "RNWT"? Just think of all the NWTs gathering dust, right next to the AID book and the green bible.

    Hi Data-Dog!

"nwt" is an abbreviation like "cl" (Draw close to Jehovah) or "bh" for Bible teach book.

I never understood why they were using "revised" anyway. It's been revised several times since originally released.

Yes, "nwt" is an abbreviation for "New World Translation." That's my point. Why say "nwt" when the material comes from the "Rnwt"?

The talk was given straight out of the front pages/index of the RNWT, not the NWT. Just go to the meeting and use an NWT in plain sight, see what the Eldubs say.

There is a clear distinction made between the NWT and the RNWT. It's purposeful. Perhaps the abbreviation of "nwt" where "Rnwt" was an oversight, perhaps not. Time will tell.

On the JW library app, the "revised" NWT is simply "New World Translation", while the "old" NWT is referred to as the "Reference Bible".

I doubt it is anything sinister, it is just the naming convention they chose.

Well, the Silver Sword is THE bible now, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Spose they had to settle with Silver Sword as New-Light Sabre was taken.

rNWT is an acronym made up by exJW's - I don't think the WTBTS has ever used that officially, as a reference acronym.

On JW.org, the previous bible is referenced as "bi12".
