I think these olympics have been outstanding. I know I speak from a GB perspective but it seems that the spirit, organisation and wholehearted support of these games has been outstanding. I have not been near London during the last two weeks but it feels like everyone in the country is in a state of euphoria.
Is this just because we were the hosts? Is anyone from Atlanta, Sydney, Athens or Barcelona on th board? How say you?
GB hosted and won way more medals than they have in a century. It should be a very exciting time over there.
All those fit, young athletes running around nearly naked will cause hormonal surges for many miles... I mean kilometers.

These olympics proved to be such a harmonious event. The youth of the world from various national backgrounds all peacefully united in one convention site . . .
. . . . just like an international convention of the JWs - only more joyous in nature.

The olympics and such events really do make a mockery of the idea of armageddon, who would pray for the destruction of all these peoples, cultures, hot ladies ?

I've been frankly gobsmacked by how well things have gone with the Olympics. I'm not just talking about the record-breaking medal haul for Team GB (3rd place in the table?! Unbelievable!!), I also think the organization has been top notch. With all the issues over security leading up to the games I had a nasty feeling it would all be an unmitigated disaster, but the "keep calm and carry on" spirit prevailed. I just hope the games leave a lasting legacy as people hoped they would, but even if they don't I believe the whole thing has been a great advert for our country and what we can do when we put our minds to it.
